Aja Trier, a talented artist residing in Scotia, NY. One day accidentally a painting of hers was mistaken for a Van Gogh.

The confusion began when an educational blog shared Aja’s painting of the Eifel Tower and branded it a “Van Gogh.” However, the Eiffel Tower was only completed in 1889, and Van Gogh had already passed in 1890

Inspired by this incident, Aja asked herself “What else did Van Gogh not see before he passed in 1890?” Thus the “Van Gogh Never” series was created.
From Winnie The Pooh, Lion Kind, The Golden Gate Bridge to Snoopy relaxing under the sky to the world of Super Mario.

Aja’s work utilizes mixed media such as acrylic, ink, enamel, spray paint, and even glitter encased in resin on cradled wooden panels. Several layers of materials are built up throughout the creation of the painting, melding background, foreground, and together in a visceral swirl of color.

Aja continues exploring new materials and how they interact with one another, color and texture.
